Made by Broadhurst Clarkson, this 3 draw leather clad telescope is known as the 'Tourist', and is fitted with an additional pancratic draw tube, enabling the power to be increased at will from 25x to 40x magnification in 5x increments.

The telescope body is of the tapered barrel type, covered in stitched brown leather which is in very good condition with all stitching intact, along with protective leather end caps, plus a shoulder strap.

Engraved 'BROADHURST CLARKSON & Co Ltd, 63 FARRINGDON ROAD, LONDON. E.C', it measures 10½" (265mm) closed, and 34" (865mm) fully drawn with sunshade extended, and has an objective lens diameter of 55mm which delivers a clear well focused image.

Fully functional with clear undamaged lenses and in very good cosmetic condition, the brass dent free tubes still have a firm draw action and retain almost all of their original non reflective bronze finish, indicating it's not had a great deal of use. Weighing just over 1.3kgs, this is a quality telescope still practical for use today.
