Casella portable 3 cup anemometer, Meteor no 4, in fitted case

Made by C F Casella and Company Ltd, this portable three cup anemometer was useful for precision recording of meteorological measurements.
The cups assemble to the dial reader by affixing along the projecting spindle and rotating on a low friction pivot where they spin easily with only minimal air flow compared to larger and heavier anemometers. The main dial reads 'C.F.C. ANEMOMETER METEOR № 4' with two lesser dials measuring 100/1000 meters per second, on the underside is the 'CASELLA LONDON' logo and serial number of 611.
The device comes fiited in its original large bakelite case and includes a weighted metal clamp that can be screwed to a wooden surface for hands free set-up.
Included are several documents including a general care and use leaflet, original graph paper for recording measurements and a photo copy of how to grade the intensity of the weather, all of which are held to the lid by a tension clip. In very good condition overall, there is a minor hairline crack on the inside of the case lid, but it's still structurally sound (see photo).
The case measures 290mm x 230mm deep x 100mm height and weighing just under 2.5kg, this is a substantial complete scientific anemometer set in full working order.
